When Shafali Verma made the simplest catch to mid-off on the first ball, Renuka dealt DC the first serious blow, leaving for a golden duck. On the opposite end, Meg Lanning appeared uneasy, just as she had against Shabnim Ismail two days prior. It is really thrilling.

During the powerplay, DC was led by Jemimah Rodrigues. But when RCB brought on Georgia Wareham in the seventh over, they had an advantage. DC lost another wicket in the following over when captain Meg Lanning was caught by Ellyse Perry at deep backward square leg off Kim Garth’s delivery after Rodrigues missed a reverse sweep and was stumped by Richa Ghosh after scoring 34 runs off 22 balls.

Annabel Sutherland quickly showed that DC would not be defeated by the twin blows by smashing a big six on the leg side off Bisht. However, Renuka’s second spell ended with a catch at cover as a result of their aggressive approach. New batter Jess Jonassen mistimed a shot to midwicket just five balls later, and suddenly, DC slipped from 60/1 to 87/5.

If Kanika Ahuja had dismissed Marizanne Kapp at short fine leg, the score could have been 95/6. Additionally, if Ahuja had reacted better after a mix-up between Kapp and Sarah Bryce, the score might have been 103/6. However, when Kapp was dismissed at long-off off Bisht’s 69.2 km/h delivery, DC found themselves at 105/6.

Bryce contributed 23 runs off 19 balls, helping RCB cross 125, but they needed much more to secure victory. Wareham delivered a double blow in the 18th over, while Garth took two wickets in the final over, conceding 19 runs. Renuka finished with 3 wickets for 23 runs, while Wareham also picked up 3 wickets, conceding 25 runs.
